The Portage Hub is a visionary run venture combining affordable-friendly accommodations and a vibrant, welcoming café in the stunning Marlborough Sounds. Located in one of New Zealand's most picturesque and untouched regions, The Portage Hub will offer traveller's a blend of adventure and tranquillity, catered to budget conscious trackwalkers, digital nomads, remote workers, and locals. Our offering includes spacious dormitory-style rooms, private rooms for groups and couples, or full house groups, outdoor social space, healthy food options in a café designed to feel like home. The business will focus on sustainable tourism practices and community engagement while offering a plethora of adventure activities to highlight the region's natural wonders, such as kayaking, hiking, biking, fishing and wine-tasting experiences.

Bay View Suite
Stay in the Hub's self-contained Bay View Suite in idyllic Portage Bay. This is the perfect suite for a family getaway, or a weekend away with those special friends. The Bay View Suite has a double bedroom opening onto a private deck with views across the Portage Bay. Perfect spot to sit and relax, watching the ever-changing view. This newly decorated Suite has a fully self-contained kitchen, bathroom (walk in shower and toilet) and two bedrooms with 2 single beds in each. WiFi and TV. Sleeps 6 guests. All linen supplied. Kiwi Hideaway
For an affordable family holiday in idyllic Portage Bay, the Hub has created the Kiwi Hideaway. Walk inside from the heat of summer and enjoy the cool rooms, on the lower floor. The Kiwi Hideaway has a double room with kitchenette that including an air fryer, jug toaster, crockery, cutlery and all you need for breakfast and space to prepare the family picnic. Walk in shower and toilet off the hall, then step into the perfect space for little ones, or a perfect teenage holiday hideaway. Two bedrooms with a set of single bunks in each. All linen supplied. Just bring the beach towels. There is a shared kitchen area on this level. The Hideaway doesn't have its own veranda or deck, but head upstairs to the Hub Café for morning coffee, lunch or dinner. Dine on the deck watching the ever changing Portage Bay or head out to the Hubs lower level outdoor area, with outdoor furniture, BBQ and a great view of Portage Bay.

Crow's Nest
The name speaks for itself. The Crow's Nest is a self-contained apartment on the upper floor of the Hub that boasts spectacular views off a large private deck, the masthead of the Hub.
The minute you walk upstairs you are hit by the incredible view of Portage Harbour. A large kitchen dining area, TV, WiFi, comfy couches, glass sliding doors giving you an indoor-outdoor flow onto the deck with outdoor furniture and BBQ. No need to leave the Nest, as you sit back and watch everything from above. The Crow's Nest has one bedroom with a king bed and single bed. The lounge room has two sofa beds. Sleeps 5 comfortably. Great for a family or a lovely spot for a couple to get away and have the best view in the Bay. The kitchen is fully self-contained and bathroom with walk in shower. Head to the middle floor, The Hub Café for your morning coffee, or enjoy the Café Menu for lunch or dinner. Relax and let the Hub Team take care of you. All linen supplied. Just bring the beach towels. Note there is a staircase to get to the upper floor to access this room.

Portage View
Just 5 minutes' drive from the Hub, enjoy a night in The Portage View room at Portage Paradise. A home with 180-degree views of Portage Bay. Relax in your own bedroom with a view (either a king-size bed or 2 single beds), opening onto a private deck, ensuite bathroom with walk in shower. A beautifully designed home set high above Portage Bay, with swimming pool, spa pool and many areas to hide away on your own, read a book or just enjoy the ever-changing landscape. Wake up and prepare your own breakfast from the provisions left out for you. Continental option with eggs, juice, coffee and tea to eat at your leisure on one of the many decks, all with a different view of the bay. Your hosts Paula and Guy will be on hand for local knowledge, and you can head down to the Hub Café for coffee, a meal or just to enjoy the atmosphere of the bay.

Cancellation Policy
Free cancellation, at least 7 days' notice except for Public Holidays and Long Weekends, one months' notice.
Cancellation within 7 days the fee is one night's accommodation. Cancel within 72 hours you may be charged for the entire stay unless we are able to rebook your room.

Note all cancellations must be in writing.
Contact us directly if you are planning to book for Christmas or New Year.
